Repair trainings

1st stage: minor repairs to CFRP / GFRP components – duration 2 – 4 days

Theory:

  • test Methods
  • detecting damaged areas
  • training on valid and corresponding manufacturing instructions
  • sequence of a repair / work steps
  • documentation
  • hazardous storage (cabinets, transport)
  • mechanical processing of CFRP and GFRP (dust protection)

Practice:

  • handling resin systems (customized)
  • handling of solvents (acetone / wax)
  • sealing, curing, filling, gluing
  • Hand lamination (up to one layer of GFRP)
  • practical exercise
  • documentation

2nd stage: structural repairs – duration 4 – 6 days

Theory:

  • symmetry, isotope / quasi-isotropic
  • monolithic and sandwich components
  • injections in the delamination area
  • vacuum construction (pumps)
  • training on valid and corresponding manufacturing instructions
  • sequence of a repair / work steps
  • fiber content determination
  • documentation
  • curing possibilities (oven, hot air blower, heat lamp, …)
  • mechanical processing of CFRP and GFRP (dust protection)
  • surface treatment
  • warranty

Practise:

  • create manual laminate (Rep-construction-CFRP, GFRP)
  • vacuum construction (vacuum bag, pumps)
  • execution of an injection repair
  • gluing on stiffening profiles
  • practical exercise
  • documentation

3rd stage: heavy repairs with stance – duration 6 – 10 days

Theory:

  • pavement reinforcement
  • used reinforcement (incremental)
  • laminated reinforcement (tub support)
  • training on valid and corresponding manufacturing instructions
  • sequence of a repair / work steps
  • documentation
  • curing (rep. suitcase)
  • mechanical processing of CFRP and GFRP

Practise:

  • insert step shoulder into component (mechanical machining)
  • bringing the shank into the component (mechanical processing)
  • create a patch by hand lamination
  • laminate tub laminate
  • vacuum construction (rep. Suitcase)
  • gluing and laminating patch’s
  • documentation
